Summary

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our fast-paced and mission-driven team at Instrumental. In this role, you’ll take ownership of delivering robust, high-performance features using our modern stack based on ReactRouter and Remix. You’ll work closely with product and engineering teams to build scalable, customer-facing solutions that support high-stakes electronics manufacturing environments.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in collaborative environments, is passionate about code quality, and is eager to contribute across the full development lifecycle — from design to debugging in production.

Salary: $75-90k/year

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of web applications using React, Remix, and ReactRouter.

• Own end-to-end delivery of features that are performant, maintainable, and production-ready.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to ship features that deliver real value to customers.

• Build and consume APIs, and work with databases to support front-end features.

• Debug complex issues across application, system, and network layers.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Actively participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in JavaScript and modern front-end development using React.

• Solid knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases.

• Proficient in version control using Git.

• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Strong experience in debugging, log analysis, and performance monitoring using tools like Datadog, ELK, etc.

• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Remix, ReactRouter, or similar SSR frameworks like Next.js.

• Familiarity with TypeScript or other strongly typed languages.

• Experience writing automated tests using Cypress, NightWatch, or similar tools.

• Knowledge of AWS and cloud-based deployment.

• Experience with containerization and CI/CD pipelines.

• Exposure to manufacturing systems or industrial automation is a plus.

• Track record of delivering mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and long-term commitment to product success.
