Maintaining optimal indoor conditions in commercial buildings, especially those with multiple tenants, is a significant challenge. Our cloud-based platform leverages real-time IoT data to provide intelligent dashboards, analytics, anomaly detection, and automation to eliminate energy waste and enhance occupant comfort.

The Role

 

As an IoT & Systems Engineer, you will be a crucial member of the team developing and maintaining the edge device technology, interfaces with industrial protocols, and the data exchange platform that form the foundation of our system.

 

We are a product company, so your work will focus on scalable production systems and automation, though some lab-style work will also be involved. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the reliability, robustness, and quality of our services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain edge software that implements services and products.
  • Own the edge hardware and firmware/configurations.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers to ensure robust and scalable automated setup and update of edge devices.
  • Develop and maintain internal tools for monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Test and evaluate software and embedded systems with sensors/devices in a lab environment.
  • Advise field engineers on best practices.


Requirements

  • MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another related field.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and C++/C.
  • Deep understanding of communications and networking, including TCP/IP, VPNs, WiFi, 4G, and RS-485/232.
  • Solid skills with embedded systems, understanding of firmware and bootloaders, OTA updates, IO and interfacing, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills.


Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with the security of embedded systems and edge devices.
  • Previous work with industrial protocols such as Modbus, Bacnet, LonWorks, and KNX.
  • Knowledge of additional communication technologies, such as SPI, Zigbee, Bluetooth, etc.
  • Experience with Node-RED or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Azure IoT Hub.
