We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Lead of Business Development ($167K–$191K / year) to lead our sales and partnerships efforts.
Reporting to the executive team, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing BD team, overseeing the sales pipeline, driving revenue growth, and securing high-value deals.

You will also represent the company at key Web3 events and work cross-functionally to align sales strategies with company objectives.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in sales leadership, a strong track record of closing complex deals, and deep knowledge of the DeFi/Web3 ecosystem.


Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Management – Hire, mentor, and manage a high-performing BD team, enforcing best practices for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Pipeline & Deal Ownership – Oversee inbound and outbound sales efforts, lead complex negotiations, and collaborate with legal teams to finalize agreements.
  • Strategic Communication & Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with high-value clients and partners while ensuring seamless internal collaboration.
  • Forecasting & Process Optimization – Own forecasting processes, provide revenue reports, and implement methodologies like MEDDIC to enhance BD performance.
  • Event & Market Development – Represent the company at Web3, Blockchain, and DeFi events to expand partnerships and business opportunities.


Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in sales, with 3+ years in leadership roles, preferably in Web3, DeFi, Fintech, or SaaS.
  • Proven track record of driving and closing high-value deals.
  • Extensive experience managing legal and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of DeFi, Web3, and blockchain concepts and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales methodologies like MEDDIC or SPIN Selling.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Based in New York, with hybrid work flexibility and willingness to travel (up to 25%).
