We are seeking a proactive Senior Business Development Associate ($148-171k / year) to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Strategy, you will manage inbound leads, drive deals from pipeline to closure, and represent the company at Web3 events.
You will also lead outbound efforts, support deal progression, and ensure smooth collaboration across stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly organized, and has a solid understanding of the DeFi/Web3 space, with a proactive “doer” mindset in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline & Deal Management: Manage and qualify inbound leads, advancing them through the pipeline to closed-won deals. Lead outbound efforts to identify and engage key projects. Support the Head of Strategy and VP of Business Operations by preparing proposals, contracts, and facilitating legal and commercial aspects to align with company objectives.
- Strategic Communication & Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for prospects and clients, ensuring consistent and professional communication throughout the deal cycle. Coordinate and schedule calls, meetings, and follow-ups to maintain momentum, while tracking meeting notes and action items to keep all stakeholders aligned.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with vertical leads and customer success teams to align customer needs with business objectives. Ensure smooth handoffs and ongoing communication across internal teams.
- Relationship Building & Account Management: Build and nurture customer relationships, focusing on long-term value and satisfaction. Develop clear value propositions for projects in the pipeline to effectively drive and qualify leads.
- In-Person Event Representation & Market Development: Represent the company at key Web3, Fintech, Blockchain, and DeFi events to network with potential partners and customers. Pursue strategic opportunities by engaging with industry leaders and influencers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably in a Web3, DeFi, or technology environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a sales pipeline, build client relationships, and close deals effectively.
- Experience with CRM tools, pipeline management and sales methodologies (i.e- MEDDIC)
- Strong understanding of DeFi and Web3 concepts, with the ability to translate technical topics into business language.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple leads and priorities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to provide accurate forecasts and reports.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach with a strong sense of ownership.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Self-starter mentality with a strong sales and business acumen, coupled with experience in closing deals.
- Experience working in both corporate and startup environments (ideally in Finance, Fintech, and Web3), demonstrating knowledge of business development best practices and the ability to adapt and implement them in a startup setting.
- Based in New York, with the flexibility to work in a hybrid model.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for events or client meetings.
